2Face and Annie - Yes We are!

Finally, we hear it from the horse's mouth. The Tweet that put us out of our misery...

Developing news - 2Face and Annie secret court wedding

Entertainment journalists are trying to outdo each other as we speak in the fight over what promises to be the scoop of the year - the purported wedding of Nigeria's Celebrity First Couple 2Face and Annie Macaulay. In the past few hours there's been reports and counter reports on web portals about the Valentine's day lovebirds secret registry wedding on May 2.
So far the story which appears to have originated from blogger Stella Dimoko-Korkus' Gossip Grove and carried by several celebrity media outlets including NET (claiming to be authoritative) remains purely speculative as there's been no confirmation from any credible source. Even 2Face's publicist Bayo Omisore reportedly said he read it first on the internet and despite claiming ownership of the exclusive story Dimoko-Korkus herself failed to quote any source that authenticates it.

Majid and Vicker beef over AMAA and Press

The SPY gathers that two of Ghana's top screen names Van Vicker and Majid Michel have beef.... for the most ridiculous of reasons too. According to the rumour mills in Ghana the two Ghallywood hunks have not been in the best of terms since the recent African Movies Academy Awards (AMAA) where Michel won the Best Actor prize.

Nollywood - Arinze quits as Guild President

Reports just reaching the SPY indicate that Nollywood star Segun Arinze has resigned with immediate effect from his position as President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN). The NET portal who reported the story have been unable to confirm it but published the resignation letter purportedly written by Arinze and addressed to the board of Trustees.

D'Banj takes Oliver to the football field

Its no secret that D'banj is a die hard supporter of English Premier League team Manchester United and now it seems he wants to capitalize on ManU and England Centre-back Rio Ferdnand's Twitted love for his latest single "Oliver Twist" to boost his deeply dented image following his recent shabby break-up with former Mo'Hits partner Don Jazzy. The embattled Koko Master who's currently in the UK putting finishing touches to the upcoming launch of the record milked a recent interview with SKY SPORT to the max.

2Face re-affirms love for Annie

As everyone knows, 2Face has just submitted Away and Beyond the fifth album of his mind blowing musical career spanning a little over ten years already. Indeed, how time flies, when one's having fun! The 15-track package thoroughly confirms what the Hypertek Nigga recently declared about being in a different league from the run-of-the-mill entertainers in Nigeria and how he doesn't consider younger acts like Wizkid and Davido as competition to his game.

Nolly... what? Mrs Mokeme come on!

Nollywood hunk, Chidi Mokeme's brand new bride didn't know he was a movie star when they first met. We can live with that. What's a little far-fetched - as most Nigerians in the diaspora are to varying degrees familiar with Nollywood - was her initial reaction when he told her he worked in Nollywood. She went "What's that?". Okay, so she was born and bred in the US and never watched a Nollywood video, what about her parents or uncles and aunties, the older generation around her...? Even President Obama must have heard of Nollywood, come on!

Bobby Brown washes hands off Whitney's drug use

Bobby Brown has told TMZ he's not responsible for late Whitney's drug taking. The very "convincing" interview showing a squeaky clean "gentlemanly" Bobby actually insinuates that Whitney was the one that introduced Bobby to the powder that eventually took her life. He revealed that prior to meeting Whitney, he only drank beer and smoked weed but then on meeting Whitney he tasted it (Cocaine) and being addictive by nature, promptly got hooked. Before you click the link below to view the TMZ video let me quickly state for the record that this just AIN'T fair. Why? Because its too little, too late and  Whitney is not around to defend herself. Someone should have asked Bobby Brown this question when Whitney was listening. Period.

Speak up, Kate!

Nollywood star Kate Henshaw's refusal to name and shame her VIOLENT ex boyfriend is disappointing and negates everything well-meaning women and people in general are fighting for across the world. The SPY feels that in her position as an emancipated woman with a face and a voice, Kate should utilise every available tool in the book to fight violent and abusive relationships not condone it by covering-up a perpetrator especially a well-known personality whom some may consider a role model.

Beyonce baby blues

Jessica Simpson the 31year-old singer and fashion mogul gave birth to a baby girl yesterday. Perhaps if the world had seen a photo like this of Beyonce before the arrival of baby Blue Ivy there would be no Doubting Thomases. After all, she's used to showing skin on stage and many others have shown their baby bumps before.... Ah bi?

Actor Jym Iyke ashamed of bad reputation

Nollywood bad boy Jym Iyke is not as hard as he wants us believe after all.
A little birdie has just whispered to the SPY that the guy stayed away from the recent African Movies Academy Awards (AMAA) because he wasn't man enough to face the press over a catalogue of scandals he's been associated with lately. The latest (still in court) is the N15m fraud case involving a company, an aggrieved investor and a female friend of the actor.

Davido's Big Love

If you've watched the Nollywood blockbuster BlackBerry Babes then you must remember a certain mass of an actress who played the annoying character of an awkward member of a circle of BlackBerry lovers.
In order to belong, she eventually got herself a BB handset but the problem was she could only afford the dummy version!

Ghanaian star Becca wrecks her manager's marriage

Serial man-eater Rebecca Acheampong - aka Becca - is at it once again! Ghanaian celebrity watchers have barely digested news of her involvement in  the recent break-up of her Manager Kiki Benson's  marriage with his US-based wife and they're already being served another unfolding husband-snatching drama.

He admitted to Hitz FM that he had ordered and subsequently taken delivery of the props in Nigeria and that his eventual departure was then delayed due to the lengthy verification process over the dummy weapon(s) but he was NOT arrested. Nigerian actors fight with voodoo over office

There was free for all fist fighting and exchange of voodoo fire yesterday at the doomed elections of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN). The controversial meeting in Edo State capital of Benin City had gone ahead despite attempts by Emeka Ike to have the State governor stop it.
Reports say the proceedings came to an unceremonious halt when fighting broke out amongst various members vying for choice positions. Besides throwing physical blows at each other, the brawling stars were said to have also cast voodoo spells on each other.
Actor Emeka Ike has been challenging incumbent president Segun Arinze over his presidency. It was not immediately clear if he was present at the venue.
