May D to sue Square Records?

As Square Records announced today that they were dumping their prime artist May D, a lawyer has offered his services to the upcoming star to sue the label which belongs to twin sensations P Square for failing to notify the artist before publicising the story. The lawyer who was commenting on the news via a popular blog said depending on the small print of their contract, May D could have a good case against Square Records and offered to give his contact details to May D via the blog's publisher. Following the breaking news, I placed a long distance telephone call to May D who denied any knowledge of the development prior to reading about it on the Internet. "I've just woken up and driving to the studio" he told me adding that if I called back in a couple of hours he may be able to shed light on the issue. However when I called later he failed to answer. In a statement, the label cited "irreconcilable differences" as the cause for their action. Question is: will May D sue his label for breach of contract? Nollywood's "Bad Boy" Jim Iyke has done the unthinkable. He today publicly apologised to the famous Nigerian blogger Linda Ikeji after he erroneously lambasted her over a false story written about him by another Linda. This is a monumental milestone development - to see the screen star who has a penchant for negative headlines being so dignified to the point of apologising to a blogger who had in the past written falsehood about him without once apologising to him. One of his series of tweets to Ikeji read - "Fuck off lady! I'm nt even gonna pretend to be a gentleman abt tis. U cn play d victim all u want but I dnt give a rat ass, period." Linda then protested "U're just attacking me for no reason. U sure u're alright?" However, after finding out that the Linda who tweeted the attack on him was a lesser known blogger he swallowed his pride and tweeted an apology that read - "Apologies Linda. My vitriol on u ws a genuine error as I misread the handle. Hope u'll boro a leaf from my apology based on ur antecedent attacks." The Spy applauds Iyke's move which goes to show that he is not only human but also a perfect gentleman who wouldn't intentionally hurt a fly but occasionally succumbs to nature's instinct of self defence when under attack. As at the time of this report, Linda Ikeji had yet to react to Iyke's apology. But you can bet that she owes the man bucket loads of apologies.... Hello, Linda we're waiting!

What our American friends think of airport security there

Nigerians must give Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson a break. The appalling state of the nation's airports speaks for itself and does not require the help of anyone to highlight it. When I arrived at the Abuja airport for the first time on a night flight in 2003, I thought the runway lights were candles or paraffin lamps. The beautiful dual carriage way to the airport was lined with light poles apparently for decorative purposes as they were all out... With all their intelligence, wealth and big mouths one wonders why public infrastructure in the country are nothing but a joke. Not even the set of the NTA is an exception. Its not as if they can't afford what is needed in the respective areas but corruption overrides their execution... individual homes and offices glitter with luxury and the latest in technology but everything "Public" remains in the Stone Age. Shame!
