It was a full house on the night - except for the unpleasant absence of the main suspect Emeka Ike who we understand somehow managed to miss his flight in from Nigeria where he was recently bestowed with a chieftaincy title. And even though the proceedings ran on African Time rather than Greenwich Mean Time, the Jayandjay Konsults premiere of Housemates at the Odeon Cinema, Greenwich London was a grand success.

Nigerian Idol: Mercy leads final three

Our Nigerian Idol favourite Mercy Chinwo has done it again! The petite bombshell with a huge vocal power raked the most votes to stay in the competition, reports Jerry Ikenna from Lagos. And guess who was swept off with minimum votes? Najite. This means that Mercy who delivered a wicked cover of Amerie's One Thing last week now leads the two remaining male contestants Stephen and Joe Blue. You can bet they'll both be singing the blues by the time Mercy carries the day on Sunday. Remember Mercy's code is 530.

A-list Nollywood actor Emeka Ike like you've never seen him before! Honest, this is not a movie scene. We spied the Housemates star who's due to attend that flic's premiere at the  London Greenwhich Odeon tonight as he was being installed as traditional Chief in his  village in Eastern Nigeria. And his wife's surely loving it.

Ghanaian star Mzbel dissed

When the London Guardian newspaper - remember them from the Arise magazine Fashion week report that upset a few of Naija peeps? - well when they approached a sister website in Ghana for photos of Ghanain singer Mzbel to put on a story they were doing on African artists they thought the little-known artist had finally got her big break so they rushed-off a pack of pics.
But they we in for a shock when the Guardian's piece dissed the - shall we say - rather sassy singer big time, raking up all her divalicious antics and brushes with the law. Strangely enough however, she's not complaining and even our friends at the website who played go-between appear to be beating their chest to have their feisty local star featured in the Guardian newspaper. Well, I guess any publicity's good for a struggling artist, won't you say?

Whitney's coke death - Ray-J says "It wasn't me"

Ray-J is furious over allegations that he supplied Whitney Houston with the deadly white powder on which she overdosed to death. According to the Urban Daily, the star said he was miles away in San Diego when the pop diva drowned in the bathtub of a Beverly Hills hotel last month.
Ray-J is pissed off at those looking for someone to blame because according to him, he did not even know Whitney was back on the stuff, talk less of enabling her down that route. Well, what do we know? Does anybody know why the link between the late Whitney and Ray-J? I haven't a clue....

Whilst many proud Nigerians are livid over the recent launch of a Nigerian edition of OK! magazine the publishers have gone ahead to stage another launch of the celebrity photo album in London. Although glamorous and famous Nigerians like Nollywood goddess Omotola graced the occasion, we're still fuming over the publishing giant's incursion into the Nigerian market . Nollywood star Tchidi Chikere has broken his silence over his recent separation from his wife Sophia also a Nollywood actress. In a statement issued by Chikere's management today, he laughed-off reports in an unnamed Nigerian tabloid that the hunk had moved in with another actress who was carrying his baby and that a December wedding was also on the cards.
