Twenty years after being nominated for their first AMA
Awards, the remaining members of TLC returned to the stage on Sunday night.
Singers Tionne 'T-Boz' Watkins, 43, and Rozonda 'Chilli'
Thomas, 42, took to the stage, and making up the trio was Lil Mama, 24, who
joined the women onstage as a tribute to rapper Lisa 'Left-eye Lopes, who
tragically died in a car crash in 2002.
Lil Mama was the perfect choice to fill the rapping shoes of
Left-eye, as she recently played her in VH1's biographical film CrazySexyCool:
The TLC Story, which aired in October this year. They performed their worldwide
hit Waterfalls, the TLC song written by Lopes with Marqueze Etheridge and
Organized Noize for the band's second album CrazySexyCool in 1995.
And it seemed that the group had taken their old wardrobe
out of retirement, as the girls took to the stage in white midriff-baring
outfits, bedazzled to an inch of their lives and fringing that swayed with
every nineties dance move. Up on the big screen behind them at the Nokia Theatre was a
giant hologram of Lisa, watching over them as they sung the former US Billboard
Chart number one. Click
