"Last Flight To Abuja"? More like... "Last Flight To London"

As the Last Flight To Abuja prepares for take off - from the stables of The Mirror Boy Director Obi Emelonye, the countdown to its London premier on Friday June 8, can be described as one of the most aggressive (not to say impressive!) in terms of publicity campaigns. From tv to social media and now this.... massive billboards across London - practically overshadowing the 2012 Olympics street visuals. Fasten your seatbelts...

Man of God lied about healing actor Enebeli

We have good and bad news news about bed-ridden Nollywood veteran Enebeli Elebuwa. The bad news is that it emerged yesterday that the senior actor who's been battling severe partial stroke for months is still critically ill and cannot walk. According to reports, a video by Apostle Sign Firemen claiming a fortnight ago that he had miraculously healed the stricken actor was a scam. You will recall that on May 22 the SPY published this video with the headline - Videdo:Nollywood star Enebeli Elebuwa healed? Besides the question mark in the headline, the SPY said then as it is now being confirmed that Apostle Fireman was nothing but a charlatan when we noted in our usual sarcastic way that his name alone was capable of resurrecting the dead. We gathered that a Nigerian website has now branded the dodgy man of God as a 4-1-9ner! On the other hand, the good news is, it has also been revealed that fellow Nollywood star Stella Damasus is Enebeli's real-life "Guardian Angel" as she is single-handedly and quietly footing his medical bills.

President Jonathan's report card

The SPY's managed to obtain a copy of GEJ's  first year report,  issued by our smart friends at Sahara Reporters. As you know, we're not into politics so we leave the comments to you...
Please zoom in for better view...

Charlyboy would stand up for gay rights if he was GAY - Lawyers

Charlyboy would stand up and champion gay rights if he was gay, Lawyers acting for Charles Oputa better known as Charlyboy have said. In a statement signed by Dr Ope Banwo the Attorneys issued a 72-hour ultimatum to the Daily Independent and National Mirror newspapers to retract their syndicated story that the artist admitted to age-long speculation of being gay. This action which appears to surprise many who have followed the enigmatic self-styled Area Fada over the years proves a point in the tenets of journalism - Comments are free but the truth is sacred. (See the SPY's profile). Everyone has said or published one speculation or another about Charlyboy (now described as a brand) without the man batting an eyelid but to publish a false statement directly quoting the man is outrageous and shamefully unprofessional. Hope they're now ready to walk the "Walk of Shame" by publishing a retraction or be damned in court.

Shan George Finds Good Luck but no junk

Can somebody please tell the SPY what Nollywood star Shan George is trying to show us by posing like this? The talented actress, seen here at the premier of her latest film Finding Good Luck always has a way of rubbing us the wrong way with her trademark short hair styles and unfeminine look. Does she want to ruin someone's day with those unsightly rolls of flesh or is she just trying to drive home the fact that she has absolutely no junk in her trunk?

President Jonathan and his men indicted...

Well, not quite. We could have said chastised rather than indicted. But what difference does it make? Just imagine for a moment, President  Goodluck Jonathan and his closest officials standing before God for their final judgement...

Nights of debauchery in Kampala

The rave of the moment amongst Kampala's socialites is HEDONISM! And as if that was not sinful enough, the SPY has gathered that two of Uganda's top show promoters are now at each others' throats as they claim ownership of alcohol and sex fuelled hedonistic theme parties dubbed as Bahamas and Caribbean nites -  where women wear their barest minimum and flaunt their assets as if they were on the sun-soaked beaches of exotic Caribbean islands. At the centre of the depraved paries are the famous Kampala celebrity hangouts Silk Lounge, Ocean and Oxygen. According to reports, the first night of debauchery was held about two months ago by the local Elyt magazine whose boss Sean Ndawula is now at loggerheads with the venue's publicist Linda Lisa for stealing his idea after she staged her own nite of passion dubbed Caribbean party recently. Tempting as it may be and despite the huge success of the novelty events, it is still not guaranteed that the idea of scantily dressed women in make-believe beach environment will catch-on as a regular fixture on the Kampala social menu. Already, revellers who attended both shows grumbled of similarity and monotony plus a lack of realism as they would have felt better in more natural settings.
