Royalties scandal: Silverbird's Rythm FM sued for N3bn

After Wazobia FM and Cool FM its now the turn of Rythm FM - owned by the Silverbird group to dance to the music they played by explaining to judges why they've been broadcasting artists's  music without paying royalties. The Spy has gathered that Silverbird who've been in the news lately over their Most Beautiful Girl In Nigeria (MBGN) scandals have been hit with a Three billion Naira law suit by COSON - the Copyright Society of Nigeria. COSON's chairman Chief Tony Okoroji said his
organisation had lost patience with recalcitrant broadcasters. Reporting the story, NFC quotes Okoroji as saying - "If anyone pushes us, we will push back. We have opened our doors wide and still continue to keep them open to all who are willing to discuss with us and legally deploy music in their business. Those who respect us will receive respect from us. Those who treat the music industry with contempt will get what they deserve". In short, there's no such thing as a free lunch, Una dey hear? Pidgin English network Wazobia FM and Cool FM were the first to feel the spinning wrath of COSON when they were successively cued like records on the turn tables of the High court in June to the tune of One billion Naira and Two billion Naira respectively for failing to pay musicians royalties and I reported then that hardly any broadcasting organisation in the country will escape this sweeping, decisive and unprecedented action by COSON as they're all culpable to varying degrees. SCANDAL! We expose two married Nollywood lesbians

News just reaching me from Nigeriafilms is revealing a fresh and juicy scandal in Nigeria's Tinsel Town of Nollywood. It's about two well-known actresses who are married but swing both ways - if you get my drift. Ok if your mind is not as filthy as some of us, what I'm saying is that they're Dykes or LESBIANS! Both bi-sexuals are married - in fact one of them only got married recently with high profile guests in attendance. However, our spies revealed that whenever their hubbies were away, the two cats get together to play and pleasure themselves. "Illuminati will lead you to hell" D'banj warned

A pastor who recently predicted impending sudden deaths among Nigerian stars has warned the nation's singing sensation D'banj to steer clear of the infamous secret cult known as Illuminati. According to the NFC website, the warning was handed down to the star last week by Pastor Wole Oladiyun after he conducted a special prayer session to ward off what he described as "sudden death" among Nigerian celebrities. Pastor Oladiyun of the Christ Living Spring Apostolic Mission was quoted as telling D'banj in a leaked private conversation after the service "Don't join Illuminati if you don't want to go to hell".

Since the dramatic implosion of Mo'Hits, there's been widespread speculation that the Koko Master may have been initiated into the influential and secretive cult which is believed to have powerful political and social big wigs on its roll call. Superstars including Jay-Z and Kanye West have also been popularly linked to the sect and some think it might have been one of the major bones of contention between D'banj and his former Mo'Hits associate Don Jazzy.

Another day, another scandal... Nollywood has suffered another marriage disaster! I'm just gathering from NFC that famous actor Femi Adebayo has dumped his wife for a new broom. The website which specialises in Nollywood matters is quoting the Nigerian newspaper Metro News. Apparently, the star is so intoxicated with his latest love brew that he had no qualms abandoning their three kids behind. Femi who is the son of veteran actor Adebayo Salami aka Oga Bello was once romantically linked to recently married actress Funke Akindele. Our sources are saying that Femi - popularly known as Jelili - has since moved into a new pad in Ibadan where his new love identified as Moji keeps his bed warm on the regular. Little is known of Femi's new heart throb but reports have it that she's now parading herself as the guy's Missus.

Actress Bukky Wright hospitalised after crash

Nollywood star Bukky Wright is in hospital after being involved in a car crash. The extent and nature of her injuries were not known at the time of this report as details of the accident which occurred earlier today Monday 26 July in the outskirts of Lagos were sketchy. The NFC website is reporting that the Yoruba language actress was rushed to a local hospital in Epe where the accident took place. More details as we get them.

After an awesome run on StarGame, Nigeria's Goldie has been given the boot.

Goldie has arguably had the most emotional stay in the House, all thanks to her tumultuous relationship with the Masai warrior, Prezzo. In the days leading up to the Eviction Show, Goldie has cried a river of tears and after a horrible fight with Prezzo this afternoon, Goldie told Big Brother she does not want to spend the last three hours of her stay in the House, fighting with the love of her life. Before the results of this week's Evictions were released, Keagan had to face his fellow Housemates and reveal his 'Save and Replace' decision. The South African Housemate told a crushed Kyle that he had been put on the chopping block. The tension in the House before the big reveal was palpable. The two lovers stood as far apart from each other as they could and when it was announced Goldie would be leaving, the Nigerian Housemate simply walked out. Prezzo then followed her to the big Eviction Doors and had one final conversation. "I'm sorry about earlier. Can I get a hug?" Goldie seemed to mull over her decision for a bit, but then relented. As expected, Goldie bawled on stage, after seeing a video of the people who had Nominated her.

D'banj's new release "Oyato" dissed by fans

Lebete...... The Koko Master is not going to like this one bit. I've just listened to D'banj's latest song since walking out on Mo'Hits records into what is now appearing to be Not-So-GOOD-Music. Its called "Oyato" and its produced by 2Face Idibia's producer Jay Sleek. Personally, I found it to be irritatingly egotistical and a rather weak below-the-belt jibe at his former pals at MAVIN. Technically speaking, the beat is feeble and the lyrics hollow and self-aggrandising. But never mind my devious opinion, since I listened to it on Linda Ikeji's blog let's sample what some of her readers think about it. Perhaps their feed back will be more flattering...
