Davido's new ride -" It belongs to his father" say some. "Its a publicity stunt" say others

Davido's new ride: Fuelled by foolish pride?
Whilst I sincerely congratulate rising Nigerian teen star Davido on the purchase of his latest toy - the Audi Q7 - I'm afraid I still have to do my job and report that some bad belle people other wise known as haters are wagging their tongues saying that the N10m or N12m ride does not

D'banj attends special prayers against sudden death

D'banj with Nollywood's Mercy Aigbe at service
News just reaching me reveals that Koko Master D'banj was among Nigerian celebrities who attended a special prayer session at a Lagos church yesterday specifically aimed at warding off sudden death. A report just published by NFC has it that the former Mo'Hits star was dragged to the service prescribed by Pastor Wole Oladiyun of the Christ Living Spring Apostolic Ministry (CLAM) after prophesying a few weeks ago of impending sudden deaths within the Nigerian entertainment industry.
However, despite having been falsely proclaimed dead some time ago, D'banj was not too keen to take this death scare too seriously but the Spy gathered that his mother was taking no chances and virtually forced him to heed the warning of the man of God. The service took place yesterday Thursday 12 July between 10am and noon at the Ogba based church. Other celebrities in attendance along side D'banj included Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe, Foluke Daramola, Ayo Adesanya, BUGA, Femi Ogedengbe, Funke Adesiyan. (Photo credit: nigeriafilms.com)

Four years jail for celebrity bad girl Bad Black

Black (left) on way to jail today. Photo by Shamin Nagawa
The Ugandan socialite and former prostitute Shanita Namuyimbwua aka Bad Black who was found guilty yesterday of conspiring with accomplice Meddie Ssendongo to defraud the Daveshan Real Estate company of $9m has been sentenced to four years in prison. Although Black and boy friend Ssendongo were said to have acquired various properties including cars and homes in Kampala and its suburbs, they could not be confiscated because they were untraceable. Millions of Ugandan Shillings were also written off as Daveshan owner and one-time lover of Bad Black David Greenhalgh was blamed for not applying due diligence when funding Black's ostentatious lifestyle. Black and Ssendongo were sent down for four years and eighteen months. My worry now is her little daughter - Davina - who's barely three months old. Will the innocent child spend her first four years locked up with her wayward mother, or will she be taken into State care? Either way, this is hardly the best of starts for a baby.

Breaking News! P- Square lose mum

Late Mrs Okoye
Nigeria's most successful duo P-Square have lost their mother Mrs Josephine Okoye. She passed away last night after a brief illness. According to a report by NFC, the mother of the famous twins had been flown to India for treatment in May after previous admission at the St Nicholas Hospital, Yaba Lagos. Although the news was confirmed by the twins' publicist, the Spy could not immediately confirm if she died in India or in Nigeria. Mrs Okoye played a key role in shaping the career of her sons and she will be sadly missed. I personally wish Peter, Paul, Jude and the entire Okoye family my deepest condolences.

"I'm not on Facebook or Twitter" - Jackie Appiah

If you're a fan of Ghana's leading actress Jackie Appiah then you want to hear this.... Her Facebook and Twitter accounts are all fake because she's neither on Facebook nor on Twitter. So all the accounts you see on the two popular social networking sites are run by impostors - never mind if they call themselves "The Real Jackie Appiah" or "I'm Jackie Appiah." The Ghollywood star who is currently filming on location in London told a Ghanaian blog that she did not know who are behind those handles and also wondered how they obtained her personal photographs. She said she suspected they may be some of her Black Berry Messenger (BBM) contacts who have  managed to secure access to her photos. The actress revealed that she will soon be launching her own website and also disclosed that she will be starring in a Glo television commercial in South Africa after completing her current filming in London.

"Don Jazzy's better than you" fans tell D'banj during performance

Its Don Jazzy ALWAYS!!!
The Koko Master D'banj got the rudest shock and embarrassment of his post MoHits life last month when fans told him off during a surprise performance in Lagos. According to a report by NFC the cocky Oliver Twist singer appeared unannounced at the Weekly Industry Night show on May 12. It was his first public appearance since the dramatic implosion of MoHits Records and as he stepped on stage he asked the audience "Who is better than me?". Apparently out of sheer politeness, the crowd pretended not to hear him and ignored the question so our egotistical Oliver asked some more and then... bang!!! They hit him with the most humiliating response he least expected by yelling back "Don Jazzy" - forcing him to leave the stage with his tail between his legs. Jeez! This is the stuff nightmares are made of. Perhaps D'banj's new found admirers in London and New York may pander to to his whims but his betrayed grass roots fans still have a bone to pick with him and can barely tolerate him at best so the Spy says - I know you want them all like Oliver but don't push your luck dude.

Top South African DJ Euphonik in court for domestic violence

DJ Euphonik
DJ Bonang
You would have thought that when two of a country's highest profile DJ's ended up as lovers they'll be playing sweet music. Wrong. South Africa's most popular on air personalities - DJ Euphonik (5FM) and DJ Bonang Matheba (YFM) - are one such couple who appear glamorous in public but once behind closed doors, the only music you'll hear with these two was the sounds of slaps, kicks and pots and pans because physical, verbal and emotional abuse are the only tunes on their play list. This is the shocking revelation jumping out of documents tendered at a magistrate court hearing the case of abuse between the estranged lovers. But the case is far from cut and dry with the claim of one aggrieved party aiming to cancel out the other's. Matheba swears in one affidavit that DJ Euphonik whose real name is Themba Nkosi has been using her as his
