Breaking news - UK Home Office on high alert as Cameroon Olympians flee

Cameroon contingent
An Olympics stroke Immigration scandal is brewing as seven athletes from the Cameroon delegation to the London 2012 went AWOL. Five boxers, a swimmer and a goal keeper from the women's soccer team  simply packed their bags and fled the Athletes Village over the weekend and have not been seen since. From a visa point of view they're entitled to stay in the UK until November so they're not deemed to be illegal immigrants at this point in time but strangely, the police say they have not received any missing persons report from
the Cameroon delegation. If the missing athletes remain untraceable it will be a case of history repeating itself as it will not be the first time that foreign sportsmen melt into the populace. Some are known to have claimed asylum in  the past. Whilst ordinary observers are wondering if the Cameroonians were out partying and got carried away, critics are beginning to ask if there are political elements at play in this embarrassing unravelling drama. A source close to the Home Office has hinted that officials were now on high alert and will swing into action when they feel that the missing athletes have overstayed their welcome in the UK.

  1. These people are a disgrace. How am I sure they're really athletes? Just like the Pakistanis that were exposed, they could have just bribed their way onto the contingent just to go and seek political asylum in the UK.
