RMD: Unanswered questions |
Ikeji: Bearer of bad news |
Since the queen of Nigerian bloggers Linda Ikeji touched a nerve in our beloved Richard Mofe Damijo when she reported the shocking news of the actor-turned-politician's N250m mansion, the internet has been ablaze with commentators calling on the Nollywood icon for answers. I suspect that RMD totally discountenanced Ikeji's birthday wishes which she so craftily offered the smooth Nollywood star before dropping the
bombshell gist that has now triggered mixed reactions amongst lovers and haters alike. Believe me, a fair percentage of comments I've sampled both on Ikeji's blog and elsewhere indicate a disconcerting amount of disillusionment in the revealing information of RMD's "birthday present" if we can call it that. People genuinely feel betrayed and are invariably calling on RMD to be more forthcoming and reassuring because of the high expectations they had in him since he crossed the carpet from Tinsel town into the self-enriching business of partisan politics. That's why I suggest that RMD should be thinking more along the lines of coming up with plausible explanations to dispel this odious air rather than pandering to his fan club by attempting to intimidate Ikeji and by implication and extension us the media. From the look of things all he has said about the disturbing revelation so far is the rhetorical "Linda should desist from fabricating stories about me and get a life", In my book, this falls far short of an outright denial. Well, the SPY says - Point of correction, Ikeji does have a life alright and everybody knows it. What we really want to know is if RMD is denying the fact that he has indeed built or bought the property in question or not. And then we start probing into the cleanness of his hands because it will be a shame if RMD the role model has joined them because he couldn't beat them. To whom much is given, much is expected.

RMD owes us explanation of how he is able to afford such exhorbitant property when he is no longer appearing in movies so should have limited income as a salaried Commissioner... That is if his hands are clean!!!???
