Obi Emelonye's "Last Flight To Abuja" that premiered in London on Friday goes on general release in the UK on 29 June. A statement just issued by the producers of the suspense-filled film based on real life events and dedicated to the victims of the recent Lagos and Accra air disasters stated that the premier which drew in excess of 1300 people "will now be released across London on fifteen screens".
"We did the right thing to go ahead with the premier and we will continue to remember the departed", the statement said adding that "we will do all we can to raise the issue of improved air safety in Nigeria". The cast and crew of the film were overwhelmed by uncontrollable fans on Friday night when the film starring Nollywood's highest paid actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, hard man Jim Iyke and Hollywood star Hakeem Kae-Kazim amongst others had its world premier at London's Troxy cinema.
