African cinema history was made last night when the first ever Sierra Leonean movie premier took place at the Greenwich Odeon Cinema in London. Shot in the US with little known actors, the film is titled Perfect Plan, but it turned out to be much more than that - its actually also the Perfect Storyline and all thanks to the directing skills of Adeyemi Lardner and the London-based producer Collins Archie-Pearce.
Befittingly, the milestone occasion was graced by more than two thousand people crammed into screening rooms 10 and 11 for simultaneous breathtaking viewing. To say the least, this is one movie that has to be seen more than once..
Leading the dignitaries on the red carpet on the night were no less than His Excellency Edward M. Turay, High Commissioner of the Republic of Sierra Leone in the UK, legendary Sierra Leonean crooner Bunny Mac, Nollywood producer and director Ruke O Amata , Miss Nubian UK (2011) Fatoumata Toure and Malisha Sesay director of Miss Sierra Leone UK and Miss Borough pageants.
