Why Akon and Wizkid were accused of racial discrimination

When I got wind of this story earlier in the day, I thought it was idle talk not worth a second glance but since its now trending I guess its time we dissect it and separate facts from fiction.
Models are like illustrations used to convey the message of a product, be it in fashion or music - as in music videos. Fact.
Therefore the creator of a product reserves the right to determine how his product is illustrated for maximum effect. Fact.
If a song is about girls with light skin - say its talking about the practice of skin bleaching or how beautiful light skinned girls are etc... then it is totally appropriate to request the services of light skinned dancers for the music video. It is called positive discrimination. The way it is acceptable when you discriminate positively between sexes for certain jobs that only a particular gender can execute for the sakes of moral values and political correctness.
Now, I do not know the subject of the music video in question neither do I know if Akon and Wizkid expressly demanded light skinned vixens. Fiction. However, given the available info which is largely speculative, I suspect that the stars who're both known to have dated dark skinned girls didn't, for one simple reason - if they had, then the talent scouts and producers of the video would have sought light skinned girls from the onset and not embarrass the poor black beauties as well as themselves by having them turn up only to send them back thereby creating this hullabaloo.
However, if my scenario is not the case and the stars  and or their representatives just discriminated against the darker skinned girls out of sheer preference then that is inexcusable and out of order!!!
I'm afraid that this is the best I can do for now until we hear from the horses' mouths. Sorry, until we hear from Akon and Wizkid. So its over to you guys...
