Jim Iyke scandal: Fans call on the star to clear his name now

Jim Iyke: Unglamorous mug shot
As the scandalous war of words between Nollywood "bad boy" Jim Iyke and  a certain Mrs Habiba Abubakar rages on Twitter and other social media, the Spy went to town to sample the views of the public and I can confidently report that fans of the actor are concerned that he's losing the plot and have called on him to stand up like a man and clear his name before things get out of hand. In an investigation we carried out among lovers of Nollywood including many who claimed to be fans of the embattled actor, the message was unanimous and clear - they fear that by washing his dirty linens in public as he's now doing with ambiguous and somewhat misguided statements on Twitter towards the aggrieved woman who appears to have an arsenal of substantial documents and facts, things are bound to get nasty and his image and career will eventually suffer. Although many of our respondents spoke under cover of anonymity, one
Mr Peter Uranta of Port Harcourt Rivers State boldly put his money where his mouth is and invariably echoed many others when he challenged the popular star to "stop taking cheap shots at Mrs Abubakar from the safety of Twitterland and do the right thing by either settling amicably and privately with her or publish a statement with documentary evidence to counter Mrs Abubakar's claims which are not looking too good so far." Mr Uranta further stated that Iyke's so-called shout outs were "Childish and trivialises what appears to be a very serious and complex matter that needs to be sorted out as adults" adding that "It could backfire on the star." Now it's my turn and the Spy says - Jim Iyke needs to grow up fast and stop flattering himself so much because despite being huge on screen and probably materially comfortable (for three generations?) he's definitely not God's blessing to mankind or even "womankind." He may have had his wicked way with numerous star-struck groupies but please he must spare us the redundant "Sex Card". Mrs Abubakar (who for the record I've never met or communicated with) does come across as a respectable business person with records of all her transactions with Iyke and his sick and embarrassed mother. One can further bet on the fact that no sane, married and successful woman would take any man - including our big headed Jim Iyke - to court simply because he turned her down. True he may be larger than life in the make believe world of Nollywood but this scandal is not a movie script and its not going to go away by applying subtle bullying tactics so get real and stop being a twit... The fact is your fans want to believe that Mrs Abubakar is wrong about her damning allegations so you need to do yourself a favour by picking up your name from the gutter where it is right now and clean it up or simply zip it and avoid making a bad situation worse to your own detriment!
