Omotola mobbed by fans at "Last Flight To Abuja" London premier

Omotola: Speechless!
Finally, the doomed flight 212 to Abuja did take off and if Omotola Jalade Ekeinde is still alive and in one piece as you read this then I tell a lie. For, the ravishing first lady of Nollywood  was practically disorientated and gasping for air as she was mobbed at the long awaited premier of Obi Emelonye's Last Flight To Abuja in London last night. And despite every effort by "bad boy" actor Jim Iyke to upstage her at every photocall that followed the screening, the hundreds of fans that crammed Troxy cinema's two-tier hall on Commercial Road seemed to only have eyes for this classy Thespian and ageless mother of four.
It was so overwhelming that the security team were totally wrong-footed and at a loss of how to rescue the screen goddess from the  crowd. We all - Press and Fans alike - swarmed around her like bees at a honeycomb and her impeccable composure was even more seducing when she momentarily and almost absent-mindedly swayed to the beat of P-Square's hit Chop My Money that filled the air soon after she stepped off the stage..
The cast of Last Flight To Abuja
Two surprising revelations did manage to permeate the happy madness of the night - the first being that contrary to all the "bad boy" hype, Jim Iyke actually came across as  rather shy, fidgeting and looking away for most of the time that the cast were on stage and secondly, the majority of Real Omo Sexy's fans are by far her fellow women folk. They completely out-numbered the men - each wanting a piece of the glamorous star and I even had to suspend taking pictures and trying to score an impromptu interview to assist two frustrated female fans - one Ugandan and the other a Sierra Leonean to obtain her autograph. In spite of a few empty seats during screening - which is a mere suggestion that a considerable chunk of the "mob" was actually waiting in the lobby - the premier was another Nollywood success story! However, as for a candid opinion of the film proper, you'll have to wait as I've assigned an independent member of the audience to do the honours so look out for her review in the coming days...
Having had a longer than usual day, I decided to give the after-party put together by DJ Abbass a miss but  not before making adequate arrangements to bring you the red carpet shots as well as after-party moments later. Its exactly 04:40 am, over and out for now....
