Nollywood hunk, Chidi Mokeme's brand new bride didn't know he was a movie star when they first met. We can live with that. What's a little far-fetched - as most Nigerians in the diaspora are to varying degrees familiar with Nollywood - was her initial reaction when he told her he worked in Nollywood. She went "What's that?". Okay, so she was born and bred in the US and never watched a Nollywood video, what about her parents or uncles and aunties, the older generation around her...? Even President Obama must have heard of Nollywood, come on!
In any case 38-year-old Jean Chinwe Olumba now Mrs Mokeme is now having to figure her way round the idea of having to share her famous hubby with thousands of admires - notably the female ones - and her key philosophy for now is to "give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and give to God what belongs to God". Good idea, we say.
