Why Jonathan missed Okereke's wedding

The most important guest expected at Stephanie Okereke's fairytale wedding in Paris yesterday was missing. President Goodluck Jonathan did not turn up after all.
Question is - was it a publicity stunt or did GEJ bow to silly comments on social media that it was a crime for the President to attend a social event because of Boko Haram's sporadic attacks and other domestics?
Well, the last time we checked, GEJ was on holiday and so fully entitled to do, go and come as he pleased. Besides, whether on holiday or not why should ignoramuses abuse their freedom of speech by questioning and badmouthing the President when all State infrastructure and human resources are in place and fully functional? GEJ is the Commander-in-Chief of Nigeria's armed forces not a beat policeman or a rank and file soldier on the ground and for the record all the devastating outrages carried out by Boko Haram so far have taken place with GEJ present in the country so the SPY wonders what difference it would have made if there was another incident in his absence.
GEJ may be humble to a fault but it is disgraceful that miscreants are using the power of the internet to take pot shots at a President who may not have the magic wand but is known to be grappling with the challenges before him. Hopefully in the following hours or days, we'll find out what kept him from witnessing the greatest moment in the life of the actress he reportedly considers as a daughter.
GEJ was represented at the occasion by Nigeria's Aviation Minister Princess Stella Oduah whose younger sister Jane as it turned out also wedded Nollywood hunk Chidi Mokeme on the same day. Our hearty congratulations to both couples.
