SHOCKING REVELATION:FOREIGN STARS NOT WELCOME IN UGANDA?

INTERNATIONAL PERFORMERS DOOMED TO FLOP

I don't want to be the bearer of bad news but duty calls so don't shoot the messanger...  Here we go - Heavyweight international entertainers such as dancehall gurus  Sean Paul and Konshens, Nigeria's Koko Master D'banj and comedian Basketmouth who all have gigs lined up for Uganda in the coming weeks had better watch out and brace themselves. I'm hearing from sources on the ground that a recent sampling of opinion among entertainment freaks and music loving public in that country gave off rather unwelcoming signals. You will recall that Sisqo of Dru Hill fame flopped there recently when he performed at a half-empty venue and Wayne Wonder's tour around the same period wasn't much to write home about either. So all they may b e getting will be a handful of die hard groupies, nothing more.  However, my sources are saying that the lukewarm reception being experienced by the international stars lately is nothing personal, its just that Ugandans are fed up with foreign performers coming in to dull the shine of their local idols so they're getting more nationalistic minded and now tend to throw their support behind their hommies. One blog commentator asked: "They're coming to do what? What's wrong with our promoters? Haven't they had enough of their own medicine? That's why their shows will always be total flops". Another spat: "I don't care about the confused internationals and their flops. All I'm waiting for is the mighty MOTO MOTO launch. Chamili's launches/shows are always a must to look forward to.... So whether you bring Buju Banton, to hell". You've been warned...
